There’s a brand-new flavor of gum available in the Poptropica store. Just like the bubble gum that Poptropica released in two other flavors earlier this month , this new item makes your Poptropican start chewing. When you press the space bar, you’ll blow blue bubbles that leave snowflakes behind. You can press the spacebar repeatedly to cause a bubblegum snowstorm. As the Poptropica creators say in their blog, it will be enough to make Hades freeze over. The new Winter Blast Flavor of Poptropica Gum.

A lot of the big boss fights in Poptropica are difficult to win. While looking through the comments for the Mythology Island Walkthrough, I saw that a lot of people are really having trouble beating Zeus in the final battle for that island. He is a pretty tough opponent, but the good news is there are some really simple strategies on how to beat him. Check out this video for a short guide on how to defeat Zeus in Mythology Island. I’ve also written up the techniques below. It’s All About the Clouds If you do only one thing (well, besides shooting) in your battle with Zeus, it should be collecting those pink clouds. They are your life force. Each time Zeus hits you, you lose a cloud. If you lose all your clouds, you fall from the sky and Zeus wins. So keep getting clouds! Really. Attack and Run Away Zeus has the same basic attacks and in between those, he’s pretty vulnerable. So quickly move in to shoot him and then run away. You especially want to run away when he turns semi-invisible because he’s invulnerable to your attacks in that state. So move off to the side and wait a few seconds before going in for another attack. What should you be doing while waiting? Yes, you guessed it! Gather more clouds! Eventually, you can easily wear down Zeus if you follow these simple directions. I think most people are really just having trouble because they don’t back off and take the time to gather up more clouds. Remember to keep switching between offense (shooting Zeus) and defense (picking up more clouds) and you’ll win easily.

Once you get your map pieces in Poptropica Skullduggery Island, your next major goal is to earn the mighty warship and assemble your crew so that you can fight Captain Crawfish and then go on to find the secret buried treasure. But getting your warship isn’t easy and it’s very expensive. You’ll need a lot of doubloons to upgrade your ship and hire all of your crewmembers. Fortunately, it won’t take very long at all to earn enough doubloons through trade. I explained this briefly in my Skullduggery Island walkthrough video, but since a lot of people are asking questions in the comments about how to earn doubloons quickly, I thought I’d explain it in a lot more detail here. The Basics To earn money through trade, just remember one thing: buy low, sell high . You want to purchase goods from the ports at their lowest possible price and then sell them at different ports at their highest possible price. This gives you the most profit and seriously speeds up the process. Fortunately, the different ports have pretty stable prices and each port has a specific good that you can buy at a very low price and another good that you can sell at a very high price. Even better, the ports line up in a nice circular pattern. Here’s how it works: Port Sell this Item Buy this Item Bouffant Bay Silk Medicine Parrot Port Medicine Spice or Silk Golden Harbor Spice or Silk Grain Pirate Outpost Grain Spice Dragon Cove Spice Silk So you can start in Bouffant Bay and just keep sailing clockwise in a big circle from port to port. Always buy the maximum amount of the low priced cargo you can at each port and then sell the maximum at the next port. That’s really all there is to it! Here’s a simple diagram that shows the pattern: Trade in the ports in this order in Poptropica Skullduggery Island to get the highest profits. Upgrade Your Ship You’ll start off your trading on your rinky dink raft that the returning villager from Fort Ridley gives to you. You’ll want to trade up to the next ship as soon as you can because this tiny little boat doesn’t carry much cargo. If you’ve got the Cargo Master, then you’ll probably be able to earn enough profits each loop around the ports that you make. Sometimes you’ll need to do two loops. But each time you have enough money for a new ship, stop inside the ship builder’s shop in Dragon Cove and upgrade. The difference in cargo capacity between the different ships is huge, and always sailing the biggest ship you can will lead to the most profits. Here’s what each of the ships cost. Note that the actual cost is a little bit lower because you can trade in your existing ship for a small discount each time. Ship Cost Cargo Space Jimmy Rigger 3,000 60 Carabelle 9,000 200 Sea Sultan 30,000 600 The Koi 90,000 1,800 Steaming Fury 300,000 5,000 Phoenix Warbird 1,000,000 6,000 Get the Cargo Master Soon One of the crew members is the Cargo Master. When he’s on board your ship, you can carry 50% more cargo than before and that means much faster profits. You can find him inside Willard’s Warehouse in Bouffant Bay. It only costs 15,000 doubloons to hire him, so hire him early on. It makes sense to hire him right after you upgrade to the Carabelle or Sea Sultan ship. The Cargo Master is in Willard’s Warehouse in Bouffant Bay.

I think that the hardest part of Mythology Island is the Red-Eye snake puzzle in the Minotaur’s Labyrinth. A lot of people agree and one of the biggest questions/complaints in the comments for my Mythology Island Walkthrough is, “How do I get past the Red-Eye snake puzzle?” If you haven’t played Mythology Island yet, this puzzle is hard . You have to “catch” the red-eye snakes by clicking on them. But they move really fast and only stay visible for a short time. So it’s kind of tough to move your cursor to one when it appears and click on it in time. That is, until now. Watch this video for a really great cheat that’s simple to do and will finally help you finish this really challenging puzzle. If you can’t view the video, here’s a quick explanation of what’s going on. When you right-click your mouse in Poptropica, the action freezes up but you can still move your mouse. This gives you all the time you need to re-position your cursor so that it will be right on top of the snake’s head. So it now is really easy to catch the snakes. Just right-click as soon as they appear, move your mouse, left-click twice and that’s it. You’ve caught the snake. It’s a pretty lame way to win the puzzle but if you’ve been frustrated or stuck for a long time, try this so that you can proceed on your quest.

As you’re sailing from port to port in Skullduggery Island to do your trading at all the ports or to recover all five pieces of the map, you’ll pass by a lot of different clouds over the sea. Most of them are harmless, and some need to be avoided, like the dark gray thunderstorm clouds that can damage your ship. But the Poptropica creators also had a little fun with some of the clouds. If you sail around long enough, you’ll find some very mysterious shapes for some of the clouds, like the dog bone cloud pictured above. I’ve also seen a heart shaped cloud and a smiley emoticon.
